Philosophy
of
Biblical Counseling

Is to give others hope, that they can be reconciled to God and others  through Biblical counseling which is a ministry of Christians to hurting and misguided people, encouraging relationships (II Corinthians 5:20).

By applying Biblical truths to daily living problems, believers can learn to live their lives in a way that is pleasing to God. By exposing their problems to the Word of God, Biblical counselors, as ambassadors of Christ, seek to "ensure that Christians are not taken captive through false teaching, philosophy and empty deception according to the elementary principles of the world, rather  according to Christ" (Colossians 2:8). Biblical counselors seek to lovingly share one another's burdens (Galatians 6:1-10), and to proclaim Christ, "admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ." (Colossians 1:28).

How
 Biblical Counseling Works

Through the enabling of the Holy Spirit, we as Biblical Counselors want to guide you toward reconciliation with God, your spouse, your family and others.

We will help you discuss and learn how to change your behavior to that which is acceptable and lovely to God (II Corinthians 5:20). Since each of us is responsible for knowing God's revealed purpose for our lives, each of us must take responsibility for our attitudes and behavior in relationships. As we "renew our minds" our behavior is transformed. We rethink old attitudes, beliefs and feelings which are contrary to God's will, and through conviction, repentance and forgiveness of those we have harmed and who have harmed us, we develop new thoughts, feelings and behavior which are godly (Romans 12:2 and Galatians 5:13-23).

As this happens, through the counselor's admonition, teaching, and encouragement, people are helped to deal with their daily living problems (I Thessalonians 5:14-22).
